Working Under the Canopy
Winter Park's live oaks define its yards. We design with shade-tolerant turf and understory plants, keep irrigation out of root zones, and use drip in the beds. Where turf won't hold, we build layered shade gardens with ferns, ground covers and flowering shrubs.
Historic Homes and Formal Gardens
Olde Winter Park homes call for formal hedges, brick and paver walkways, courtyard gardens and lighting. We design, install and maintain them, with mature plant material from our nursery.
Lakefront Lots
Lake Virginia, Lake Osceola and Lake Maitland shoreline lots need plants that handle wind and high water, and a 15-foot fertilizer buffer along the shore.
Watering and Fertilizer Rules
Winter Park is in the St. Johns River Water Management District (2026 shortage order: odd addresses Saturday, even addresses Sunday, no irrigation 8 a.m.–6 p.m.). Orange County bans nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer from June 1 through September 30.
