Landscaping Services in Winter Garden
Everything below is available to Winter Garden homeowners, businesses and community associations, installed by our own crew.
Horizon West New Construction
Horizon West has thousands of new homes, and most arrive with the minimum builder landscape package. We add trees for shade, upgrade beds, install paver patios and lanai extensions, and fix the irrigation coverage gaps that show up after the first summer.
Watering Days and Fertilizer Rules
Winter Garden is in the St. Johns River Water Management District, so the same schedule applies as in Clermont: currently Saturday for odd addresses, Sunday for even, and no irrigation between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Orange County also bans nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer from June 1 through September 30.
An HOA-Heavy Market
Almost every Winter Garden community has architectural review. We prepare submittals for Hamlin, Independence, Summerlake, Lakeshore Preserve, Stoneybrook West and others.
Sand and Shade
Winter Garden's older neighborhoods have mature oaks and need shade-tolerant turf and understory plants; the newer ones sit on fill and need soil amendment before anything thrives.

Winter Garden Landscaping FAQs
Do you work in Horizon West and Hamlin?
Yes. Hamlin, Independence, Summerlake and the rest of Horizon West are about 20 minutes from our nursery along SR-50 and SR-429, and new-construction landscape upgrades there are some of our most common jobs.
How much does landscaping cost in Central Florida?
Most full-yard landscaping in the Clermont area runs $2 to $15 per square foot depending on how much is plants and mulch versus pavers, irrigation and structures. A typical 500 sq ft front-yard refresh in the Orlando market is roughly $2,300–$6,000; a complete new-construction package with sod, irrigation, trees and beds is more. We give free, itemized estimates so you can phase the work.
What areas do you serve?
We are based in Clermont and serve all of south Lake County every week: Clermont, Minneola, Groveland, Montverde, Mascotte and Howey-in-the-Hills. We also work in west Orange County (Winter Garden, Horizon West, Ocoee, Windermere, Apopka), the Four Corners and Davenport area of Polk County, and take larger projects across Lake, Orange, Polk, Osceola, Seminole, Marion and Sumter counties. See our service areas.
Does a landscaper need a license in Florida?
Florida does not issue a statewide landscape contractor license; landscape installation and lawn maintenance require local business tax receipts and insurance. Applying fertilizer for hire requires the state Limited Urban Fertilizer certification, and applying any pesticide (including weed-and-feed) requires a Florida Department of Agriculture license. Highland Grove is licensed, bonded and insured and holds the certifications its crews need.
