Landscape Design & Installation
Highland Grove is a full-service landscaping company and plant nursery in Clermont. We design new landscapes and renovate tired ones: foundation plantings, shade and flowering trees, palms, privacy hedges, flower beds, mulch and rock, and the irrigation to keep it all alive. Because we grow much of our own material on County Road 561, you can walk the nursery and pick the actual plants before they go in the ground.
As a full-service landscaping and nursery operation, Highland Grove brings deep horticultural knowledge to every planting project. We select plants that thrive in Central Florida's climate, ensuring your landscape looks beautiful for years to come.
From large specimen trees to delicate ornamentals, we handle every aspect of plant installation — from soil preparation to final placement and mulching.

Landscaping FAQs
How much does landscaping cost in Central Florida?
Most full-yard landscaping in the Clermont area runs $2 to $15 per square foot depending on how much is plants and mulch versus pavers, irrigation and structures. A typical 500 sq ft front-yard refresh in the Orlando market is roughly $2,300–$6,000; a complete new-construction package with sod, irrigation, trees and beds is more. We give free, itemized estimates so you can phase the work.
What areas do you serve?
We are based in Clermont and serve all of south Lake County every week: Clermont, Minneola, Groveland, Montverde, Mascotte and Howey-in-the-Hills. We also work in west Orange County (Winter Garden, Horizon West, Ocoee, Windermere, Apopka), the Four Corners and Davenport area of Polk County, and take larger projects across Lake, Orange, Polk, Osceola, Seminole, Marion and Sumter counties. See our service areas.
Does a landscaper need a license in Florida?
Florida does not issue a statewide landscape contractor license; landscape installation and lawn maintenance require local business tax receipts and insurance. Applying fertilizer for hire requires the state Limited Urban Fertilizer certification, and applying any pesticide (including weed-and-feed) requires a Florida Department of Agriculture license. Highland Grove is licensed, bonded and insured and holds the certifications its crews need.
Do you help with HOA approval for landscaping changes?
Yes. Most communities in Clermont, Minneola, Groveland, Winter Garden and Horizon West require architectural-review (ARC) approval before changing a front yard, adding pavers or building a pergola. We prepare the plan drawing, plant list and material specs the committee asks for and use plants from the community's approved palette.
Can my HOA stop me from using Florida-Friendly landscaping?
No. Florida Statute 373.185 says an HOA cannot prohibit Florida-Friendly Landscaping (drought-tolerant, low-fertilizer, low-irrigation design). The HOA can still review the design for appearance, so we prepare submittals that satisfy both the statute and the community's standards.
Is xeriscaping or Florida-Friendly landscaping cheaper than grass?
Up front it is usually similar or a little more than sod because of plant and mulch costs, but it costs far less to own: less water, no summer fertilizer, less mowing. On Clermont's sandy hills, where turf at the top of a slope struggles anyway, replacing it with drought-tolerant beds is often the best-looking option too.
